You signed the contract. Paid the invoice. Got excited about your new website.
And then… nada.
Your developer (me) is waiting. You’re stuck. And the project drags on for weeks (sometimes months).
So what happened?
It’s (almost) always the content
Most websites aren’t delayed by design.Or tech.
They’re delayed because the client can’t (or won’t) deliver the words.
Some don’t know where to start. Others want to write it all perfectly first. And some? They have too much to say.
Like Giang - my client who’s a yoga teacher, therapist, community builder, and mother of two. Her heart’s in the right place. But two months after paying, I’m still waiting for her homepage basic content.
Or F3 Consulting, a boutique immigration law firm. In our kickoff call, they told me upfront: "You’ll need to be a bit pushy with us. We’re extremely busy." So that’s what I do. Gentle nudges. Structured requests. Practicing my polite pushiness...
Why this happens
Writing content for your own business is hard. It brings up imposter syndrome, overthinking, perfectionism.
But the truth is, you don’t need to write perfectly. You need to write honestly.
And I’ll do the rest.
Here’s what I tell my clients
→ Don’t overthink it. Just get it out of your head.→ Voice note, bullet points, scribbled PDF? Perfect.→ Send me messy and I’ll turn it into clear, structured, conversion-ready copy.
Behind the scenes, I use trained AI tools (and a lot of experience) to map your chaos into clarity.
The more you give me, the better. But I’ll always ask for what I need if something’s missing.
How I guide the process
I’ll ask specific questions:
- Who is your target audience?
- What is the #1 action you want them to take?
- What services or offers do you want to highlight?
- What websites do you like—and why?
- What tone and feeling do you want visitors to experience?
That’s enough for me to start.
And once we define what "done" means (hint: live, tested, launched), you’ll know exactly what to expect. And when.
The emotional side
Let’s be honest: building a website can feel vulnerable. You’re putting your work out into the world.
So I work with empathy. But also: I’ll remind you when I need something. Because your website can’t work for you until it exists.
And I want it working for you. Bringing you clients, leads and clarity.
So… is your website half-finished somewhere?
You're not alone. And it’s never too late to pick it back up.
Start small. Write one sentence about who you help. Or send me your old copy. We’ll build from there.
